Overview

Diabetic retinopathy (DR) affects the majority of patients with diabetes. Understanding the importance of vision screening in patients with diabetes and which clinician to refer the patients to can be challenging. Join Dr Vivian Fonseca as he discusses barriers to vision screening and best practices to ensure patients with diabetes understand and adhere to vision screenings. Dr Steven Ferrucci emphasizes the need for collaboration among primary care providers (PCPs), endocrinologists, and eye care specialist to ensure patients receive optimal care for eye health.

Target Audience

This activity has been designed to address the educational needs of PCPs (ie, internists, family practitioners, nurse practitioners, and PAs), endocrinologists, optometrists, ophthalmologists, and residents.
